I’m Melissa, a flower still learning to stretch toward the sun. I grew up in church, but over the years I questioned, wandered, and fell out of step. I never fully turned away from God, but I wasn’t living in a way that truly honored Him. After almost losing my son in a car accident, I returned to my Father’s side, striving to make each day count and bloom into the person He created me to be.
I started The Crowned Bloom as a place to share life as I’m learning it — the little joys, the messy moments, and the ways God’s love shows up in ordinary days. I don’t have all the answers, I am FAR from perfect, but I have a heart that wants to please Him, and a hope that we can encourage one another along the way. Where two or more are gathered, He is there, right?
When I’m not tending my heart and faith, I’m chasing little joys in everyday life: baking treats that taste better than they look, tending my garden, reading, or sipping a cup of coffee. I couldn’t live without Jesus any more than I could live without coffee! I have six chickens that I absolutely adore, but my fluffy little white Silkie, Charlotte, is my favorite — just don’t tell the others!
I’m a wife to an amazing man and a mother of three wonderful (when they want to be) children. We live in the suburbs for now, but are looking forward to the day when we move to the country and fully step into a slower-paced life.
This is a space for faith, life, and the small joys tucked into every day. Take a moment, sip your coffee, listen for Charlotte’s soft clucks, notice the sunlight on your windowsill, and let your heart take root where God has planted you. I hope you’ll bloom alongside me here — growing in faith, delighting in the simple gifts, and finding joy in His tender care, one ordinary, beautiful moment at a time.
